Jim is often asked to act on behalf of requested persons facing extradition, as well as take depositions before Magistrates for the purposes of use in evidence at trials abroad. He regularly advises potential suspects as well as witnesses regarding requests that they give interviews under compulsion, either from the SFO or as a result of a request for mutual assistance passed on by a foreign government.
His knowledge of the Extradition Act 2003 and this complex area of law affords his clients access to expert advice from the outset and he is often asked to act at very short notice, frequently within the first 24 hours following arrest.
